Faculty

Dr. Nihar Shah is board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Obesity Medicine. He is dedicated to the endoscopic treatment of acid reflux utilizing multiple advanced therapeutic interventions such as Endoscopic treatment of acid reflux including transoral incisionless fundoplication and Stretta procedures, ablation, and use of overstitch suturing system.

Dr. Benjamin Rodriguez is board-certified in Gastroenterology, Transplant Hepatology, Obesity Medicine and Internal Medicine. He specializes in colon cancer screening/adenoma detection, acute and chronic liver disease, acid reflux; alcohol-related liver disorders, Cirrhosis and functional bowel disease.

Dr. Sara Chalifoux is board-certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine Her special interests include colon cancer screening, treatment of gastroesophageal reflux, and treatment for irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease.

Objectives

1. Define “Alcoholic Hepatitis” and the Common symptoms.

2. Able to list treatment modalities for Liver Cirrhosis.

3. List the signs and symptoms of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease,

4. Identify common Diagnostic testing for GERD.

5. Can identify the complexities of treating gastroenterology conditions among the aging population. 6. Recognizes the importance of cancer screening as the elderly rank 60% of all new colorectal cancer diagnoses.
